The research methods of this thesis is based on a questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews with eleven scout leaders. Conclusion of the study are as followings: 1. The perception of scout leaders toward the importance of aging learning is excellent. Their main thoughts toward active aging are: (1) Health is the key factor to having a high quality of life in older age, and staying healthy is key to active aging learning. (2) Maintaining favorable family relationship and good social relationships is necessary to active aging. (3) Keeping learning and developing interests will enrich lives and help active aging. (4) Active aging is outlined in the process of keeping participating in volunteer service and club activities. (5) Early retirement planning is an important strategy to live up to active aging. (6) Experiences of scouting is beneficial to live up to active aging. 2. Regarding to scout leaders’ perceptions of the importance of active aging learning : (1) Scout leaders consider to take action so to keep learning as the most important goal of participating in active aging learning. (2) Scout leaders think that the most important dimensions of active aging learning is “life safety” and”sports and health.” (3) The most important learning issues of active learning for scout leaders are considered to be “resident safety”, “fraud prevention”, “regular exercising”, “learning and reading”, “getting along with family” and “hands-on learning.” 3. About scout leaders’ learning needs: (1) Scout leaders are more willing to participate in “interpersonal” and “contribution” dimensions. (2) There are most participants of scout leaders in “resident safety”, “fraud prevention”, “regular exercising”, “religion Lear”, “getting along with family” and “volunteer service” courses. (3) Issues of “emergency first responses”, “drug safety”, “fraud prevention”, “traffic safty”, “health resources” and “nutrition knowledge” in the dimensions of “life safety” and ”sports and health” are the courses that scout leaders need to learn most.
