The purpose of this study is to explore the leisure benefits of the participation of the kneading activities in an art association of an elementary school, using "quality research". Five kinds of kneading activities were designed. The "observation method" was carried out for 14 students of the community. The parents, the administrator, the tutors, the resource teachers and the off-campus kneading teachers used the "interview method" for cross-matching and triangle verification. The purposes of the research are as below: 1. The elementary school student can achieve the leisure benefits of five facets in the kneading activities. 2. Special educational students can achieve leisure benefits and learning results in the kneading activities. The study found that the leisure benefits of students participating in the kneading activities are as follows: 1. Physiological benefits: Eliminate fatigue, increase vitality, maintain a hundredfold spirit, maintain health, and concentrate. Increase the tactile training of the small muscles of the hand, and is flexible, which helps the students writing ability. 2. Psychological benefits: increase interest, have fun in life, and have a good mood. Self-healing, relaxation, ease of emotions and academic stress temporarily forget about troubles. Self-realization, stimulating potential to have a sense of accomplishment. 3. Social Benefits: Enhance friendship, make new friends, and learn the group life. In the group activities, students will develope their interpersonal skills such as working with others and helping each other in the same team. 4. Educational Benefits: Improve knowledge in the field of art and curriculum, strengthen creativity, cultivate imagination, and train observation. Train clay kneading techniques to cultivate the students’ combined construction and color matching skills. 5. Aesthetic Benefits: know how to appreciate and experience the aesthetics of the kneading and help to cultivate the sense of beauty in everyday life. Among the five benefits, the beneficial result from the Social benefits is the highest while the Aesthetic benefits is the lowest. The leisure benefits and learning outcomes of special educational students participating in the kneading activities are as follows: Help the small muscles of the hand with tactile training and fine movements and the power of writing pens. It has the effect of calming the mood and can stabilize the current unpleasant mood. Enhance the friendship between classmates and friends, integrate into the community, and learn to live in groups.
