Such labor shortage is also an issue in Europe, the U.S. and Japan. Traditional sowing methods depend on human labor to sow the seeds. This requires a massive amount of seeds, and the seedlings have to be thinned out manually afterwards. As labor shortage become more prominent in Taiwan's agricultural industry, and finding workers during the planting season is often a struggle, technological advances may be the answer. New advancements in technology make the designing of an electric seeder possible, and such machines will save time and cut down on the amount of labor required. When sowing seeds with the electric seeder in this paper, over 95% of the seeds successfully mature into seedlings. The seeder designed in this paper offers precise sowing, planting one seed per hole to reduce the amount of seeds used, which is an improvement over the amount of seeds used in traditional sowing methods. Seedlings from the seeds sown with the seeder in this paper do not have to be thinned out afterwards. The seeder is small, light and easy to operate. The single-seed sowing design is suitable for all types of seeds. The double-row sowing mechanism on this machine is able to achieve high sowing density, and make better use of available space. It also features a fertilizing mechanism that allows the user to sow and fertilize at the same time, boasting zero seeding container miss sow rate and does not clog up. To reduce the possibilities of damage and rust, the electric seeder in this paper adopts a full body aluminum alloy and galvanized iron design. Distance between seeds can be adjusted via the main gear and driven gear. It is also equipped with a DC brushless motor for less maintenance and more durability. The seeder's battery is a common battery that can be charged with a common battery charger. If the battery cease to function, it is easy to find and purchase a replacement. The controller has 10 speed settings that can be adjusted based on the user's speed preference. The safety fuse on the back of the controller is a protective design that prevents short-circuiting when the wires are connected incorrectly.
