The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between female baby boomer’s life course and learning processes, and the meaning of learning in graduate institutes. Three females were selected as the participants through purposive sampling method. The study applies semi-structured and in-depth interviews for each participant about two or three times, and the narrated texts were analyzed by the categorical-content approach. The study found that female baby boomer’s learning processes in graduate institutes is influenced by their life course, including social environment, family background, learning processes in all ages, and their own personality. First, the social environment relates to the history events, gender differences, and the policies at the period of time. Second, family background of both family of origin and family of procreation are concerned with financial situation, family support, resource allocation, and social characters. Third, the learning resources and experiences in every age and field are one of the important factors. Lastly, the reasons of learning include learning motivation and personalities. The motivation of female baby boomer to enter the graduate institutes is from work or non-formal education. These females faced the challenges on operating the computer or in the course discussion, yet they solved the problems by their classmates assisted. Through the professional learning process in graduate institutes, the female baby boomers get benefits for learning, and obtain more possibility in the future life.
