In the past, most of the thesis focused on the relationship between income inequality and the economic growth. This paper, on the other hand, will discuss the impact of interest rate on income distribution. We use income distribution data from 13 countries, including Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Ireland, Japan, Norway, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, the United States and the United Kingdom for empirical analysis. We further categorize 3 different high-income groups, TOP 1%, TOP 5% and TOP 10%, in these 13 countries and elaborate the detailed current situation for income distribution. The model set in this paper considers the influence of times series and we discovered that income distribution is affected by time series. Therefore, we need to take the time factor into consideration, using panel data to research the income distribution. The model adopts three different approaches and the result indicates three different outcomes. The impact of interest rate on income distribution is statistically significant to people in TOP 10% high-income group. By adding dummy variables in the model, we will in return to arrive significant results. 林建甫 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 44 zh-TW
