And the characteristic of 5G is high speed transmission. So, a technique of MIMO antennas is adopted to achieve the high-speed transmission characteristics. Design MIMO antennas, the isolation between two antennas is one of the important parameters that affect MIMO antennas performance. This thesis proposes two MIMO antennas at WLAN/5G bands designs that use isolation to reduce the coupling of two antennas and can be application at laptop computer:
In the first design, a small size 5G C-Band / WLAN 5.2/5.8 GHz MIMO antenna for laptop computer is proposed. The antenna is designed with coupling-fed monopole antenna. The two inverted L+C-shaped strips extended from the ground reduce the coupling of the two antennas to enhance the isolation. The antenna size is 5 × 30 × 3.8 mm3, and applied to the laptop computer that ground plane is 200 × 260 mm2.
In the second design, an application in 5G C-band / WLAN of MIMO IFA antenna for laptop computer is proposed. The antenna is designed with IFA architecture. The grounded loop between two antennas is used to enhance the isolation. The size of antenna is 35 × 6.2 × 3.8 mm3, and applied to the laptop computer that ground plane is 200 × 260 mm2.
