Methods: The participants were 493 team-sports athletes from 20 elementary schools in Taipei and New Taipei cities. Data were collected by administering a battery of questionnaires under a practice condition. Results: The perception of autonomy supportive climate from coaches would positively predict athletes’ prosocial behaviors in sports, and controlling climate from coaches and moral disengagement would negatively predict antisocial behaviors in sport. Furthermore, moral disengagement could only partially mediate the relationship between coach-created motivational climate and antisocial behaviors in sports. Conclusion: Most of the coaches in elementary sports teams commit autonomy-supportive leadership styles while their athletes are conducive to the prosocial behaviors and a moderate degree of moral disengagement. These findings encourage coaches to demonstrate an autonomy-supportive coaching climate for enhancing prosocial behaviors of their athletes instead of creating a controlling climate.
