| Summary: | The working memory system is responsible for the protection of limited information that can be kept in mind at once. Discussions on the existence of different circuits for different working memory, the limit of working memory and its developability are ongoing. Cognitive tests addressing working memory remain a current and reliable source for assessing cognitive abilities. In this review, we aimed to understand the working memory, which is an important concept of cognitive physiology, in the light of current information. In this context, the anatomy, capacity, individual differences and developability of the working memory are discussed. |
