Description
Summary:Microbial-mediated anaerobic oxidation of ferrous iron was discovered only recently. The present review introduced recent findings on the type of microbial-mediated anaerobic oxidation of ferrous iron, including anoxygenic photoautotrophic anaerobic oxidation of ferrous iron, anaerobic (per) chlorate-dependent ferrous iron oxidation and anaerobic nitrate-dependent ferrous iron oxidation, analyzed the main environmental impact factors and discussed its effect on the migration, transformation and degradation process of pollutant. Furthermore, some tasks for future investigations were recommended.
