| Summary: | Perirenal schwannomas are rare benign tumors that may radiologically mimic renal malignancies. We report the case of a 39-year-old asymptomatic woman with an incidentally discovered perirenal mass initially suspected to be renal cancer. Intraoperatively, the lesion appeared well-encapsulated and extrarenal. Complete excision was performed, sparing the kidney. Histopathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis of benign schwannoma. This case highlights the diagnostic challenge of perirenal schwannomas and emphasizes the importance of intraoperative assessment and histological confirmation to avoid unnecessary nephrectomy. |
