Description
Summary:In this article, the role of the spectator in post-dramatic theater is examined using the example of the German-Swiss directing collective Rimini Protokoll, which has been producing innovative theater pieces worldwide for over 20 years. Based on some theoretical considerations on post-dramatic theater, which emerged in the 1970s and is characterized by a multitude of forms and possibilities, a proposal for the classification of spectator roles at Rimini Protokoll is presented on the basis of a rough division existing in the literature. The different audience roles discussed are also illustrated with concrete examples of productions by the directing collective.
