Culicoides perijaensis new Culicoides (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae) in Venezuela

A new species of Culicoides, C. perijaensis n.sp, is described, and illustrated based on female specimens captured in the Perija zone in Zulia state, Venezuela. A light tramp was used to collect them. Specimens were slide mounted in Creosote-Canada balsam and examined and measured. They were identif...
