| 要約: | Introduction:
An important factor often overlooked during syringe needle irrigation is the intra-barrel pressure generated. This pressure tends to be higher with thinner needle gauges when used in optimally shaped canals. The present study aimed to evaluate the solution delivery time using different syringe needles in prepared single-rooted teeth.
Materials and Methods:
The present study included 63 extracted specimens. After shaping and cleaning the canals to three sizes using the HyFlex CM rotary 0.04 taper files, the specimens were randomly assigned to one of three groups (n = 21): Group I used 30-gauge single side-vented closed-ended needles, Group II used 30-gauge open-ended flat needles and Group III plastic double lateral-vented needle tips. A single operator was randomly assigned to irrigate the prepared specimens using the experimental needles, following the standardized irrigation protocol. Solution delivery times were recorded using a calibrated stopwatch and analyzed statistically.
Results:
Group III demonstrated a statistically significant decrease in solution delivery time (P < 0.05).
Conclusion:
The plastic lateral-vented needle tips delivered the irrigant faster than the other types.
