Description
Summary:This article tries to answer the simple question asked to Géographie et cultures before the conference held at Cerisy (France) in 2014 on the cultural turn in geography. In order to answer it, we first looked at the formal dimension of the journal: its institutional links, its directors, the composition of the editorial and scientific committees, its artisans, etc. In short, all that makes it possible to publish four numbers a year since 1992. In the second part, we analyse the 586 articles written from n° 1 to 84. The conclusion is that Géographie et cultures gradually became a cultural-turn journal, and that it has become in recent years a journal of “cultural and social geography”, one that has however kept significant links to cultural geography, whatever it means.
