Description
Summary:The art market consists of several elements: artists, galleries, critics, collectors, museums and fairs, etc. It is regulated by a system of supply and demand. One of the keywords that links these items together is the information or, better, the flow of information. Art publishing plays a complementary role in the promotion of visual arts, thanks to the ability to collect and spread a huge amount of news; different from a cultural and geographic point of view. «Art International» is one of the magazines that has a leading role in the relationship with the market, through a close association with galleries and collecting. The paper aims to provide a slice of the Italian presence within the pages of the magazine, between 1959 and 1963: works, collections to which they belong; artists, galleries; supporting their international visibility, thanks also to the use of different languages.
