Description
Summary:Our contribution examines how Brazilian online media specialized in fact-checking mobilize transparency in their discursive productions during the period of the last presidential campaign (2018). This study is based on pragmatic approach and two methodological registers (content analysis and semi-directive interviews). Considered as a discursive act, transparency is mobilized to support the objectivity’s ideal worn by fact-checking in journalism as well as to mark the readers’ involvement in the checking process. At the same time, transparency hides editorial strategies under the principle of a common approach, imposed by certification networks.
