description Nursing leadership is one of the critical areas that can influence workforce outcomes and the health system. Although leadership is recognized as an important part of nursing service, however, the knowledge of the dean’s leadership style among nursing educators in Malaysia is still limited and requires further investigation. The objective of this research was to explore the relationships between the dean’s leadership styles and job performance among nursing educators at one of the nursing colleges located in Subang Jaya. The research used a quantitative research method, by employing a four-point Likert scale survey questionnaire, to investigate the relationship between leadership styles and the job performance of nursing educators. This research selected 45 out of 50 nursing educators based on Krejcie and Morgan's sampling table using a convenience sampling technique. The data were analyzed using SPSS software. Descriptive analysis showed that Democratic leadership style was the most favorable leadership style among nurse educators. Overall, the job performance of nursing educators was satisfactory. Correlation analysis indicated a close relationship between democratic leadership and the job performance of nursing educators. The multiple regression analysis further confirmed that democratic leadership style has contributed significantly to nurse educators’ job performance. The results from this study provided useful information that might be useful to assist the deans in nursing colleges to deal with leadership issues in order to enhance the job performance of nursing educators.
