Summary:Rhodanine derivatives, as a subtype of thiazolidin-4-ones, represent an important class of heterocyclic compound known for their broad spectrum of biological activities and practical applications. In this short note, the synthesis of a new compound, 5-[2-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-oxoethyl]-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-thioxo-1,3-thiazolidin-4-one, is described. The target molecule was synthesized via a thia-Michael addition followed by cyclocondensation. Its structure was confirmed by <sup>1</sup>H and <sup>13</sup>C NMR spectroscopy and further supported by 2D NMR studies.
