Summary:The perspective and the actual directions of the study of ethnic stereotypes are considered in the article. The author considered the factors of influence on the formation and development of ethnic stereotypes in the plane of existence of interethnic interaction. The state of development of the concept on ethnic stereotype in modern psychology is analyzed. The relationships between ethnic stereotypes and social processes and interethnic interactions are revealed. The influence of interethnic interaction on the formation of ethnic stereotypes is established. In the article the ethnic stereotypes forming process is analyzed, it is related with the psychological aspects of interethnic communications asso ciated with different types of social relations in society. The perspective and the actual directions of the study of ethnic stereotypes are considered. It is indicated that the forming of ethnic stereotypes reflects the psychological aspects of interethnic communications. According to the article the ethnic stereotypes are the component object in the system of interethnic relations where any single element cannot be dominant or exist in isolation from others, i.e. ethnic relations and interethnic communication are interrelated and interdependent. The methodology factors are analyzed in the article; they are used by modern psychology to study the complexity, uniqueness, specificity, validity of existence of ethnic stereotypes functioning. Much attention is given to characteristic discontinuity between the theoretical description of ethnic stereotypes and their practical solutions applied in the study of ethnic relations as a field of scientific knowledge. The author established the study of ethnic stereotypes as a branch of science, it is a gap between the theoretical description of the psychological phenomenon and applied practical solution. The author comes to the conclusion that there is a need in the development of systems of early prediction of conflict situations and the model of the emergence and spread of conflicts. This system will effectively prevent the crisis state of interethnic relations with dangerous consequences.
