This predatory mite, Metaseiulus occidentalis (Nesbitt) provides effective biological control of the Pacific and two-spotted spider mites, Tetranychus pacificus McGregor and T. urticae Koch, respectively, as well as the European red mite, Panonychus ulmi (Koch).
