Redesigning contours: high definition liposculpture in overweight patients‒a case report & review of literature

High-definition liposculpture (HDL) is an advanced liposuction technique designed to sculpt body contours and enhance skin contractions. While typically performed in patients with a normal body mass index (BMI), its application in overweight individuals is limited because of potential complications and unpredictable outcomes. This study reports HDL in a 31-year-old male with a BMI >30. Three months postoperatively, significant reductions in thoracic, waist, and pubic circumferences (6.80, 11.76, and 11.21 cm respectively) were observed, with well-defined contours and no complications. This case demonstrates that with careful patient selection and consideration of subcutaneous fat volume, skin elasticity, and surgical history, HDL can be safely and effectively performed in overweight patients, yielding excellent aesthetic outcomes.
