description This study examines the general characteristics of the Socialist Built Heritage in Nanyang District through a literature review and field investigations. The study analyzes the classification, distribution, primary values, and fundamental features of this heritage. The study also summarizes existing challenges and proposes corresponding conservation strategies. Furthermore, compared with the western theory of New Urbanism, the study preliminarily explores the implications of the mixed work – residence model and its strong sense of community for contemporary urban and rural development. This exploration aims to stimulate further discussion and advocate for greater societal attention to the research and conservation of this modern heritage.
