Description
Summary:In this study we examine the occurrences and correspondences of terms for affinal kinship in a Bulgarian – Ukrainian parallel corpus of fiction. All instances of the terms selected for study, matching and non-matching, were located and counted, and the frequencies compared. Some of the asymmetries found may have roots in culture and history whilst others reflect diverse features of language and the practice of literary translation.
