| 要約: | Jamaica’s resistance to colonization, be it original or contemporary, as well as between sexes, has been facilitated by the geography of the island. It has often been impersonated by women, working miracles, as Olive Senior’s poetry illustrates it. The female persona evokes nature’s right to be respected, the hypocrisy of Christian religion: ecological revolutionary women wage wars against economical predators, female gardeners use occult powers to grow their prize-winning crops; black women claim their attachment to the colour of their skin, mothers take their destinies in their hands, fight against the violence of hurricanes, make do with the treason or forsaking of their ungrateful male companions. Further poetical female echoes testify to secret, silent victories, to a sisterly solidarity, and the building of a sensible hedonism, not resigned, but realistic, undoing the powers of domination, the fatalism of victimization, to make them agents of their existence, and that of their families and community. |
