Summary:In order to solve the problem of broadband domain harmonics in traction power network caused by the by AC locomotives replacing DC locomotives, a scheme of a third-order high-pass filter to eliminate the higher harmonics was presented with small reactive power, no voltage increasing, no fundamental loss and low running costs. A detailed analysis on the effects of the principles and various parameters of the filter was carried out, and simulations with examples had verified its effectiveness and feasibility.
