Synthesis of Terpineol from Alpha-Pinene Catalyzed by <i>α</i>-Hydroxy Acids

We report the use of five alpha-hydroxy acids (citric, tartaric, mandelic, lactic and glycolic acids) as catalysts in the synthesis of terpineol from alpha-pinene.
