Summary:The article presents the results of an anonymous survey of 850 citizens of the Orenburg region wishing to volunteer for military service under contract in the Armed Forces of Russia. Found that persons aged 19-25 years (72%) who have graduated from specialized secondary schools or 11 classes of secondary schools prevailed. At the time of entering on military service under the contract 78,6% of respondents were unemployed and only 47,5% of respondents answered positively to the question “the military service under the contract - it’s my calling”.
