| الملخص: | Vũ Trọng Phụng is one of the earliest modernist writers in Vietnamese literature. This shows his receptiveness to modern trends as well as his attempts to update Vietnamese literature to catch up with trends in world literature in the first half of the twentieth century. This paper examines and analyzes the approaches to reality in the works of Vũ Trọng Phụng. On this basis, the paper demonstrates that Vũ Trọng Phụng was an advanced Vietnamese writer who absorbed Western literary modernism. Also, the paper offers affirmation of the significant position of this writer in the progress of Vietnamese literature in terms of his distinguished talent and style. |
