| Summary: | Thesis writing is a biggest challenge for the part-time masters of education throughout the course of study. Based on the interviews with 13 part-time masters of education in S University, it can be found that the difficulties in thesis writing of part-time masters of education mainly stem from their insufficient time commitment. When it comes to the term "time", part-time masters of education need to coordinate two kinds of social time with different characteristics in primary and secondary schools and universities. Although part-time masters of education have some time freedom, it is difficult for them to control their time completely. Under the constraint of time, the characteristics of "part-time" degree require them to devote much of their time in primary and secondary schools. They have to prioritize their work in schools over postgraduate study in the university. As a result, the vague "academic study" gives way to the precise "practical work". In order to ensure the quality of part-time masters of education, the curriculum should be further clarified to help part-time masters of education make full use of their time and adjust to the "time difference" between primary and secondary schools and universities.
