| Summary: | The paper contributes to the socio-political dimension of Southern Common Market (Mercosur), and aims to identify some dynamics at the regional level that have been reported in the social and citizen agenda since the Mercosur Summit in Paraná, Argentina (2014). It analyzes the decisions and commitments made, their strategic relevance, and the normative frameworks adopted, highlighting aspects related to labor issues, labor mobility, health, and, in particular, migration. The evolution of commitments undertaken at the intergovernmental level in Mercosur marks the strategic contours, limitations, and opportunities that this regional space presents. In addition, we discuss the scope and redefinitions of the bloc's partners in the multiple instances of coordination and governance, which also include the countries of the Pacific axis. |
