Summary:In view of problem that traditional magnetic circuit calculation for motor cannot accurately calculate reactances of quadrature-axis and direct-axis of motor because reluctance of iron core is neglected, the paper used Maxwell software to make electromagnetic analysis for an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor. The analysis results show that it cannot consider saturation of magnetic circuit of direct-axis, but must consider saturation of magnetic circuit of quadrature-axis when calculating reactances of quadrature-axis and direct-axis. There is cross magnetic circuit in direct-axis and quadrature-axis, so influence of cross saturation of magnetic circuit on reactances cannot be neglected when calculating reactances of quadrature-axis and direct-axis.
