| Summary: | The explicit objectives of proposing a thematic issue on literary tourism to Téoros - Journal of Tourism Research were to help make the concept and its practices more accessible to readers, to arouse the interest of tourism researchers, and – why not? – to encourage the latter to invest in a field that is still poorly documented in the French-speaking world. Indeed, there is no shortage of potential playing fields at a time when the growing demand from tourists for experiential practices (Camus, 2014; Gombault and Bourgeon-Renault, 2014) is encountering the initiatives of a growing number of actors, both public and private, seeking, through the promotion of literary resources, to distinguish their territories and/or their activities in a context of increased competition.
