The study, based on the unpublished memoirs of the Russian émigré N. A. Martynov, is devoted to the activities of the Soviet intelligence service among the Russian emigration in Northern China after World War II in the context of the SovietAmerican confrontation in the initial period of the Cold War. The methodological basis of the work is the anthropological approach and the principle of consistency. Emphasis is placed on the work of the Soviet consulate and other organizations to split the Russian emigration in Tianjin, its Sovietization and subsequent repatriation.
