| Summary: | The article examines the main directions of activity of teachers of pedagogical institute in the 60- ies of XX century. On the basis of regional sources and periodicals, the author concludes that the active participation of teachers in research and academic work on the preparation of highly qualified teachers. In this time employees of the University have given students not only professional, but also a profound moral influence. Many of themwere direct participants in a critical historical events in the history of our country. Many teachers were participants of the Great Patriotic War. Despite the closed status of the city best teachers of the Univercity maintained close scientific ties with foreign scientists, and some of them went to scientific trips to foreign countries.
