Summary:This article provides a survey on “The Royal Foundations Review”, one of the most important publications in the history of Romanian literature. Four major periods are briefly described, in which the literary policy of the publication is connected to the politics and ideologies experienced by Romania: a liberal-democratic period (1934-1940), a period marked by Romania’s alliance with Nazi Germany (1940-1944), a new democratic period (1944-1945) and a period marked by Soviet influence (1945-1947).
