Description
Summary:The introduction of renewable energy sources (RES) and modern building automation solutions, known as smart homes, has greatly increased building energy efficiency. The number of smart home solutions and their elements in closed and open systems continues to grow. This paper attempts to present the energy management abilities in KNX smart home systems based on two different strategies applied to two model houses. Solutions based on a cost-effective strategy and solutions based on a comfort strategy were selected for a multi-criterion analysis based on an electric energy balance in selected buildings, economic analysis and analysis of the selected solutions in terms of user comfort. Finally, a comparative analysis was performed for the results of the multi-criterion analysis of smart home systems combined with RES for two selected buildings.
