| 要約: | The objective of this work is to propose an indicator of development with the differential of being constructed only with variables that seek to reflect the causes of development, not its effect. Statistical and factorial analysis techniques were used to formulate the indicator in question and to verify the municipalities that will develop more quickly. Considering that the western region of Paraná has undergone important transformations in the economic structure and population dynamics, we opted to apply the indicator proposed in this region. It was verified that the 14 variables selected for the study explain 70.39% of the total data variance, and the cities with the best socioeconomic conditions are Ibema, Cascavel, Cafelândia, Santa Terezinha de Itaipu and Toledo
