| Summary: | In the publication, an analytical assessment of the contemporary manifestations of the societal issue of corruption is conducted, grounded in advanced international methodological frameworks. The article analyzes the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) as such an indicator in the countries of the European Union, EU candidate states, and Ukraine for the period from 2012 to 2024. The aim of the study is to assess the effectiveness of anti-corruption policy implementation based on publicly available CPI data published by Transparency International. The author examines the methodological foundations for calculating the index, the data sources used in the process, and identifies the key factors influencing the CPI scores of individual countries. A comparative analysis of EU countries with the highest and lowest CPI scores is carried out, along with a detailed overview of CPI trends. Special attention is given to the relationship between national-level anti-corruption policies and their outcomes as reflected in CPI dynamics. Based on this analysis, conclusions are drawn regarding the current challenges facing Ukraine’s anti-corruption policy, and potential directions for its improvement are outlined in the context of European integration. |
