Summary:Concomitant hepatitis A virus (HAV) and amoebic liver abscess are to be considered in patients with clinical signs and symptoms of fever, jaundice, and right upper quadrant pain, especially in endemic areas. Both diseases had similar epidemiology and identical mode of transmission, i.e., the feco-oral route. We report a case of a young female with simultaneous infection of HAV and amoebic liver abscess, emphasizing the role of dual infection and its clinical manifestations.
