| 要約: | This study addressed the definition of the thesaurus, its purpose, purpose, function, and the obstacles facing the process of building an Arabic thesaurus in the web environment. The study reviewed the need and goal of creating an electronic thesaurus for library and information science terms. A thesaurus of library and information science terms was also built as a sample of a proposed project to build a general thesaurus in various branches. Promised knowledge for use in the process of automated indexing of scientific materials, as well as to assist researchers in the process of searching and retrieving the materials to be accessed. The study reviewed in an applied manner the stages of establishing the thesaurus for library and information sciences, the stages of its preparation and organization, and the database that was built specifically for this purpose, as well as the thesaurus’ website on the Internet.
