Determination of Financial Literacy Levels of Local Tourists: Gaziantep Sample

This research aims to determine the economic literacy level of domestic tourists visiting Gaziantep. In addition, this study is aimed to determine whether the financial literacy levels of tourists differ according to demographic variables. A questionnaire was applied to 390 domestic tourists visiting Gaziantep in this context. Analyzes such as Factor Analysis, Independent Sample T-Test, One Way ANOVA and Correlation Analysis were performed on the obtained data in SPSS 21 Statistical Program. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the economic literacy level of tourists differs according to their education level, age and income level. In addition, it has been determined that the financial literacy levels of tourists show partial differences according to marital status and gender. In this context, it has been observed that the economic literacy levels of those with a high level of education, those with a high monthly income, those over the age of 35, men and those who are married are higher.
