Evaluation of Parasitological Examinations of Medical Centers of Hamadan City, West of Iran

In order to evaluate the parasitological examination in medical centers of Hamadan city, a study was made in seven medical centers including university hospitals of Hamadan city, on patients with gastrointestinal disturbances from Oct. 1991 to Oct. 1992. A total of 733 specimens from patients stool examinations have been done in the centers with direct wet mount and lugol’s iodin wet mount were carried to parasitology Laboratory in the school of medicine, and examined using different techniques including formalin ether, tricohrome staining , etc. The result of the examinations in medical centers were significantly different and the result of this study showed that there should be a program for training the laboratory staff working at the medical centers.
