Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 建築系 === 93 === Design team can be regarded as a system consisting of a group of elements interacting to each other, in a manner so that the entire system maintains stable development in the design process. The purpose of this research is to assess the performance of architectural design process through the viewpoint of systems thinking. A systemic assessment framework is developed by integrating the concept of balanced scorecard and a design process model that describes inter-relationship of design activities. The assessment framework is tested using two architectural design teams of different sizes as test cases. The assessment reveals blind spots of a team’s design process that hinder its effectiveness. The results of the assessment can assist the design teams to find the strategic decisions to improve, such as time management, customer communication improvement, design procedure establishment, and knowledge base development.
