Partial sequencing of Stearoyl-CoA desaturase gene in buffalo
Stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD) is the rate-limiting enzyme in the biosynthesis of monounsaturated fatty acids (Ntambi et al., 2002). Bovine stearoyl-CoA desaturase gene encodes 6 exons and several Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) were identified by Medrano et al. (2003).
