| Summary: | The article deals with the role of libraries in study of gender processes occurring in the social structure of modern society. The emphasis is placed on the fact that the objective conditions of modern society influence the changes in the institutional order of the interaction of gender groups that has developed for centuries. And these changes create conflict situations that manifest themselves both in the public and in the private sphere of the family. The forms and methods of library work in the field of the formation of gender tolerance in society as part of ensuring the information security of modern society, aimed at harmonizing not only interethnic and cultural relations, but also socio-economic, inter-generational, inter-political relations, are expounded.
