It is shown that the works devoted to various aspects of the activity of musical groups occupy an important place in science. Th e problems of developing the concept of a creative and musical collective are marked by a shift towards solving practical problems. Th e study concludes that there are specifi c methodological approaches to the analysis of the concept of a musical collective. Th e fi rst is a social evidence of the relevance of addressing the concept of a musical collective as one of the essential ones in social psychology, which is necessary for successfully solving the problems of communication between people in various types of musical activity. Th e second and third – subjective and functional-structural, are aimed at identifying key features in the activities of various teams.
