Summary:The continuation of an academic journal in Brazil depends on financial and institutional support in addition to the -sometimes overwhelming- editors’ hard work. Revista Estudos Feministas, at once an academic and an activist journal, has had the participation of many unpaid collaborators. This article discusses the journal’s continuation possibilities, the difficulties it faces when it is identified by many as an activist journal, although it gets voluntary support for the same reason.
