An inversion centre is located at the mid-point of the central C—C bond of the 1,2-bis(pyridin-4-yl)ethane ligand. The coordination geometry of the MnII ion is distorted octahedral and is built up by four carboxylate O atoms, one water O atom and a pyridyl N atom. The pyridine ligand and the coordinating water molecule are in a trans configuration.
