NURSING SHIFT CHANGE: LITERATURE REVIEW

This study aims to collect national literature articles on the theme: nursing shift change, emphasizing the main aspectsaddressed. A literature review was carried out manually and on the internet with 11 nursing journals published from 1996 until 2006.Eight articles about this theme were found and the main aspects approached were: concept, information type, used modality, hinderingfactors, and responsibility. The results lead us to think over the need for communication-skilled professionals, able to sensitize theirteams on the relevance of this activity, and able to create alternative and efficient ways to get across consistent and qualified informationduring shift change.
