The wrist, elbow, shoulder, the trunk rotation and displacement of the lower limbs in constant knees flexion take part actively during the practice of the sport. Objective: to estimate the prevalence of injuries in athletes who practice table tennis. Methodology: Descriptive study with cross-sectional and quantitative components, carried out in active athletes from clubs affiliated to the Liga de Tenis de Mesa of the Department of Antioquia, Colombia, with more than one year of dedication to this sport, older than ten years, without also make other competitive sports or to have injuries due to sports or accidents. They all participated voluntarily and they did not consider themselves as leisure athletes. The presence of injure was explored by a question asked in a questionnaire. Neither clinical evaluation was carried out nor diagnosis method was used. The type of injury was not tried to specify. Results: the affected anatomical regions were: shoulder (28%), knee (26%) and lumbosacral region (10%). The anatomical regions in which injuries were informed coincide with that marked thoroughly, but the prevalence and the order of frequency of injuries were different. None of the participants expressed ocular trauma. Conclusion: in table tennis players was found that, in descending order, the most affected anatomical regions were: shoulder, knee and lumbosacral region.
